Bharath University , Chennai was established in 1984. The university was established under the aegis of Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust with the aim of imparting higher knowledge in Science and Technology to the aspiring boys and girls so that they can emerge as competent scientists, engineers and technologists of repute. The university is accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade and recognized by UGC. Bharath University, also known as Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research. The Institute acquired deemed to be University status in 2003 by University Grants Commission (UGC). The university constantly strives to provide an excellent academic environment for the benefit of students and faculty so that they acquire a technological competence synonymous with human dignity and values.
